Having experienced years of restrictive eating alongside PCOS and hormonal imbalances, I understand how frustrating it can be. I was an experienced nurse when I was diagnosed, but I struggled to manage my PCOS symptoms, eating disorder, and exercise addiction. I had experienced being severely underweight, and had also experienced being overweight, and can honestly say I was never happy with the way I looked and felt at any shape or size.
My major breakthrough was working with an experienced eating disorder practitioner who coached me through to full recovery from eating disorders using the very techniques I may use with you.
I began to research my hormonal imbalances through the scientific literature and combined this with my nursing knowledge and experience of working with hundreds of patients. Focusing on the drivers of my PCOS I began to make gradual, sustainable changes to my lifestyle and began to feel myself again. The most significant change was falling pregnant three times with ease, with no medical intervention, and having three happy, healthy babies!
I gained an MSc in personalised nutrition and further advanced training in eating disorders to become a Master Pratitioner in Eating Disorders and Obesity, and translated what I had researched into an evidence based, personalised model that could work for other women with weight struggles, disordered eating or, eating disorders producing my whole body and mind ‘Circle of Care’ method.
